God will fight for you, you need only be still

I wrote this over summer when I was just starting to meet new people in a new state and finding my bearings. I'd love to say that I found them, but I've not. I'm still working through this and in effort to remind myself what I learned over summer, I pulled out my notes to find this quote.
"God will fight for you, you need only be still."
This is difficult for me to comprehend in the season. I feel like I'm constantly fighting where I'm at.
I'm not feeling settled, nor at home.

I have everything I could ever want; a healthy family, a beautiful home we're renting, a flexible job. Each day I'm feeling out of my comfort zone though. Like something is missing.
I'm praying for wisdom and guidance, while simultaneously not reading my Bible. I'm not going to the source of wisdom. And I'm not being still.
Being still
To me, being still just means sitting by myself, usually outside in nature, and enjoying that moment. Having my Bible open to scripture is always a plus. I rarely do this now. That's probably why I haven't heard any "next steps" or clear direction from God.
Reading the Word always fills me up, but I easily put it off. Reading it daily is something I'm working through and I am praying for help with this.
A journal just for prayers
This is something I did over 7 years ago and it was really powerful. I filled up an entire journal with prayers and I saw the Lord answer one after the other. Some he didn't answer, and sometimes that was a good thing.
I only wrote the prayers in cursive because at the time I literally couldn't write cursive, so this was my way of teaching myself. It also made it fun and beautiful.
If this is something you think might be powerful for you during a difficult season, or just any season, I hope you can try it and see God show up in ways you never would have thought.
I think journaling my prayers was powerful because it made me look more intentionally to see if God answered them.
I paid attention to the things God was doing in my life.
This is a practice I could use right about now in this season. Let me know in the comments or in an email if this is something that has helped you in your journey.
Blessings!
AJ
