Why I Started My Blog

Updated: May 13, 2021

1. Making the most of my 20's

I first started listening to Sam Laura Brown’s podcast when I was 19 years old. I liked it because it talked about how to make the most of my 20’s and work on my mindset on a daily basis.

I’m now 22 and let’s just say Sam’s blog has had a big impact on my decisions and personal growth the past 3 years.

I’d like to share that knowledge and what it's like going through my 20’s so other women can feel empowered and make their own visions a reality.

Publishing a blog was an item on my bucket list, and listening to Sam's podcast had inspired me to get started. I'm so glad I did!

To see my full bucket list, read this post here.

2. Personal Growth

Publishing this blog is definitely out of my comfort zone.

It’s going to be imperfect, have a lot of grammar errors, and generally be pretty messy (at first!). I'm okay with it because this is part of my personal growth and I look forward to seeing how I grow over time. I want to be conscious about staying consistent and following through with my content calendar to build trust in myself and build up my self discipline because I don't feel strong in those areas (yet).

Now that I've started my blog, here are some things I'm going to really focus on for the next six months.

3. Prioritizing & being disciplined

My top priorities:

- Content calendar

It's so important to create a content calendar for myself so that I can clearly see my deadlines.

Right now I've given myself an expectation of posting (at least) once a week every Tuesday (which is easy for me to remember because it's also sheet day - the bed sheets are always washed on Tuesday's because that's the day we moved in!).

- Free Downloads

I really want my audience to be able to engage with my new blog and I want it to be helpful!

Downloads are always fun (& free!) so I want that to be part of my blog to make it more helpful for other women to apply it to their own lives.

- Post! Post! Post!

I'm just beginning this writing thing and I have acknowledged that although I'll think almost every post I write isn't "post worthy", I'm still going to go through with it.

This is the ticket. Doing it even when I think it's not good enough.

This is going to help me get used to the growth mindset rather than an "all or nothing" mindset [perfectionism].

To hear more about how to create a GROWTH MINDSET read this post here.

I'm also going to try my best to not edit too much! I know writing isn't going to feel natural at first so I'm just going to embrace that and do it anyway.

I'm so excited to start this journey and see where it takes me! If you're thinking of starting a blog but are nervous about what the outcome might be, keep reading Allison Jadovitz every week to see what my journey is like and how I navigate through the power of self image, a growth mindset, and consistency.

xoxo,

Allison
